I was extremely chuffed to be approached by Creative Review to be the 'theme' for the December issue of their 'Monograph' Booklet. A whole eighteen pages all on me, I felt a little spoilt. I'm afraid you only receive a copy if you are a subscriber, so below are some of the spreads.

***HOT OFF THE PRESS*** My First Edition, a sneak preview ...
Since our show I have been receiving lovely emails from people wanting to purchase prints. Predominantly, I seem to produce mainly one-off pieces. This isn't necessarily down to personal choice but more to do with the way I work, which is somewhat cack-handed! This response has inspired me to try and make a new collection of prints, all low editions that can be purchased here on my blog. Here is a peek at what's on my drying rack at the end of this first week. More to come very soon.

Past times, past styles
Earlier in the year I was commissioned by 'STUSSY' to create some illustrations to be used on their tShirts. Their chosen theme was Hip Hop. Myself and the Art Director Adam Weissman had great fun trawling through image librarys looking for the perfect old skool shot. It was a fun job although creatively I felt I was revisiting a previous style. Having said that it was perfect for this project and their brand. There is something that amuses me about the image we used below ... like the guy has just fallen clean out of the sky. Shows you how much I know about break dancing.

A Triangular Obsession
James and myself considered our first 'Press & Pull' show a success. We thoroughly enjoyed ourselves. A big 'thank you' to all who helped us pull it all together, supported and visited us. Hopefully this show will mark the beginning of a new venture for us both .... Watch this space.
Here are two of my 'one-off' silkscreens from the show. Featuring lots of triangles, of course.

I love Love Film!
"Brotherhood" Boxset
At long last my 'Brotherhood' samples arrived today and they've gone to town with the packaging. Once again Mark & Simon (Tappin Gofton) have put their creative heads together and produced a beautiful CD Boxset with lots of little extra perks, very special. The booklet for the vinyl album is as big as the record itself and comes with an extra print for your wall, wonderful.

'Constructivist Kate'
I was recently commissioned by Creative Review Magazine to illustrate an article on Constructivism. Having enjoyed the recent Rodchenko exhibition at the Hayward Gallery, I was keen to learn more about other artists and the movements ideals. "Constructivism appeals to designers because its references are graphic, and graphic art appealed to the Constructivists because it was the means to mass communication for all."

'Press & Pull'
At last James and myself have finished hand printing the invites for our forthcoming show. Aptly titled 'Press & Pull', the show will comprise of a collection of Lino Cuts by James Brown (http://generalpattern.blogspot.com/) and new Silk Screens by myself. The show will be on at the Ada Street Gallery, off Broadway Market from Wednesday 27th August until Sunday 31st August inclusive. Daily from 12pm - 7pm. Please come down and say hello.

'Surrender' Limited Edition Lithograph
August 30th sees The Chemical Brothers play a special anniversary gig at Kensington Olympia, the venue depicted on their 1999 album 'Surrender'. I have been asked to re-interpret my original illustration, to be reproduced as a limited edition litho print available only at their gig. Here is a sneak preview of some work in progress...

Its a FACT
Paul Pensom ('Creative Review' & FACT Magazines) commissioned me to make a print for the cover of the latest issue of FACT. The theme was Ambient music .... "it can be a heavy theoretical space to think about the relationship between music and silence, sound and image, thought and feeling. Yet, judging by the burgeoning crossover between music and art in galleries around the world, it's a space that many of us seem increasingly interested in exploring ...." Tony Marcus.

'Brotherhood'
Once again I'm working alongside 'Tappin Gofton' to produce a collection of images for The Chemical Brothers forthcoming album "Brotherhhood", released on 1st September. I love the title. Naturally, I can't show the finished prints but I can give you a sneak preview of what they're not going to look like. Things took a dramatic turn towards the end of the project and the ideas below were pushed aside for a something completely different. Watch this space....

'Enfant Terrible'
Today sees 'Sonny J' release their second single 'Enfant Terrible' from their forthcoming album. Once again, I teamed up with Patrick Duffy to create their sleeve artwork. For each release, our initial starting point is a vintage photograph, which is then silk screened as a four colour separation. This is my favourite photograph so far, their costumes are ridiculous but incredible ...

'If You Could'
Alex and Will at 'If You Could' asked me to contribute to their project this year. Unlike the previous two years where the illustrations ended up forming a book, 2008 sees a series of monthly Silk Screen Posters as the outcome. It was great to make a set of prints that I didn't have to physically print myself. Alex and Will also record their process as shown in the photographs above. Visit their website and you will see the prints for March feature my multi- talented friend Siggi Eggertsson teamed up with Anthony Burrill ....

Wedding Invite
I've been working on a new illustration to be photographed and reproduced as a wedding invite. The bride & groom will end up with the original silkscreen print depicting their wedding in the south of France. Their guests will each receive an individual, embossed and editioned 'mini print'. (These were printed by Mat Sant: www.matsant.com)

(More) Record Covers
Often when I work with bands, they release more than one version of their record which means we do two covers per single. The second covers often go unnoticed so I thought i'd promote them here myself. Once again it has been a pleasure to team up with Mark & Simon at 'Tappin Gofton' to collaborate and produce these artworks for 'The Chemical Brothers' recent campaign 'We Are The Night'.
